- Any shave with a brush begins with clean, moist and warm shave area.
- 1. Begin by moistening the shaving brush with warm water and gently shaking off any excess water.
- 2. Afterwards, dampen the shaving area with a small amount of water keeping it moist.
- 3. Place a conservtive amount of shaving cream on the tip or center of the brush. For ease of use, you can also rotate the brush into the shaving cream or a shaving soap.
- 4. Lather the cream onto shaving area using a circular, scrubbing motion. This helps to create a rich lather, which in turn clings to the bristles. It also provides a thin barrier that protects the skin from the razor blade. To further enhance the lather, add more hot water to the brush. The clockwise application effectively coats each hair causing it to rise from the skin.
- Be certain not to add too much water, it will liquefy the lather on your shaving material.
- 5. Shave as you would normally.
- 6. Once shave is complete, rinse all excess shaving cream off the brush.
7. Place brush upside down on a stand when finished. This transfers all the excess water to the tip of the bristles facilitating easy drying. - 8. Store shaving brush in a cool, dry place.
